Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

After downloading the app, you'll be guided through a quick onboarding process. Create your first subject, add a learning resource, and mark it complete to see your first streak. You'll be learning within minutes.

Can I sync my data across devices?

Currently, Noir. stores all data locally on your device for maximum privacy. We don't offer cloud sync. However, if you use iCloud Backup, your data will be restored when you get a new device.

How do streaks work?

Your streak increases by 1 each day you complete at least one resource. If you miss a day, you get one free "streak freeze" per week that automatically protects your streak. Pro users can also recover a broken streak by completing 2 resources the next day.

Does the timer work when I close the app?

Yes. The timer continues running even when you switch to other apps or lock your screen. When you return, your timer will be right where you left it.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

The free version includes unlimited curriculums with up to 3 subjects each, basic stats, and one share card template. Pro unlocks unlimited subjects, all premium share card templates, weekly activity charts, timer analytics, and streak recovery features.

How do I manage notifications?

Go to the Settings tab in the app to customize your notifications. You can enable/disable daily reminders, set your preferred time, and toggle weekly recap notifications.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store. Go to Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → Noir. → Cancel Subscription.

How do I delete my data?

Since Noir. doesn't require an account and stores data locally, uninstalling the app removes all your data. There's no account to delete. You can also delete individual curriculums within the app. Anonymous analytics data collected by our third-party providers cannot be linked to your identity. Can I add any type of learning resource?

Absolutely. You can add YouTube videos, articles, podcasts, online courses, books, exercises — anything with a URL or just a title. The app supports links from any website.

Privacy & Data

What data does Noir. collect?

All your learning content (courses, resources, progress) is stored locally on your device and never sent to our servers. We collect anonymous usage analytics through PostHog to improve the app, anonymous crash reports through Sentry to fix bugs, and manage subscriptions through RevenueCat. None of this data can identify you personally. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Does Noir. track me or sell my data?

No. We do not use advertising trackers, do not request the iOS tracking permission (IDFA/ATT), and do not sell any data to third parties. Our analytics are anonymous and used solely to improve the app.

Can I request or delete my data?

Since all your learning content is stored only on your device, you have full control — uninstalling the app removes all local data. Analytics data collected by our third-party providers is anonymous and not linked to your identity. If you have any concerns or wish to exercise your rights under GDPR, contact us at gosset.dev@gmail.com.
